Kevin Broderick, AIA
Principal
Kevin is a licensed architect, principal and the owner of the firm. He studied architecture at the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, where he received his Bachelor of Architecture. Kevin is the Principal Architect on a variety of ecclesiastical, commercial, institutional, multifamily, single family residential and industrial projects. Responsibilities include all phases of design, client communication, production, team management, consultant and jurisdictional coordination. Kevin has a passion for understanding clients’ needs and goals and discovering creative design solutions to solve programing challenges. He also brings to each project an extensive background from years of hands-on building and construction coordination. The office is focused on getting projects built. “I never tire of the thrill of actually walking through a space that started and developed in my imagination and the talented minds of my staff.” In his spare time, Kevin enjoys fly fishing in Montana, skiing and backpacking with his wife and 3 boys.
Bryan Perez, AIA
Architect
Bryan moved to Seattle from Lincoln, Nebraska, after graduating from the University of Nebraska with a Master of Architecture and a Master of Science in Interior Design. While in school, Bryan worked as an Architectural Intern, hand drafting for a small firm in Torrance and as a summer intern with a global firm in Omaha, Nebraska as a part of their K-12 education team. He also spent two years as a Teaching Assistant for various design studios at the University. Bryan’s draw to the industry is getting others excited about a built space through design, education, or exploration. Outside of the office, Bryan enjoys culinary explorations of other cities and cultures, supporting his favorite sports teams, attending local concerts, and traveling and exploring the Pacific Northwest with his wife and their dog.
Alex Karanja
Project Manager
Alex has been a Seattleite for 23 years and holds a bachelor’s degree in architecture from the University of Washington and brings over 10 years of diverse experience to the field. Throughout his career, Alex has worked on a wide range of project types, including residential, multi-family, mixed-use, commercial retail, industrial, and religious architecture. He thrives in collaborative environments, enjoying the problem-solving challenges architecture presents and the satisfaction that comes with successful project outcomes. Outside of work, Alex enjoys producing music, performing at an open mic events, karaoke and occasionally playing golf.
Leah Henthorne
Interior Designer
Leah was born and raised in Phoenix, Arizona and attended Arizona State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science in Interior Design. After graduating, Leah moved to Seattle to pursue her career in design. While in school, Leah worked as a design intern for interior design firms in Scottsdale, Arizona working on commercial and residential projects. Leah’s favorite aspect of design is creating a space that enhances meaningful connection through a built experience. In her free time, Leah enjoys hiking, yoga, photography, exploring the city, and playing the piano. She is also a member of ASID.
Adam Hill
Architectural Designer
Adam was born and raised in Mount Crawford, VA and received his Bachelor of Architecture from Virginia Tech. Right out of school, he spent a year in Virginia working on primary education projects before moving across the country to Bellevue, to be with his (now) wife and work for a larger firm designing retail locations nationwide. Adam stepped away from architecture firms during the 2008 recession, but stayed within the construction and design industry, working various jobs over the next 16 years including landscape maintenance, architectural model making, middle management at a regional lumber supply store, and as a project estimator and design support for a single-family residence general contractor. He has always had a passion for the built environment, from initial concepts to the in-field construction, and thoroughly enjoys the entire process it takes to see an idea become a reality. In addition to his passion for architecture, Adam also enjoys wood working, metal fabrication, auto mechanics, cooking, hiking, backpacking, and traveling with his wife.
Shawn Keenan
Design Professional
Shawn is a Pacific Northwest native with over 15 years of professional experience with an emphasis on residential design. Originally from Oregon, Shawn stayed close to home when he attended the University of Oregon’s School of Architecture and Environment, where he received his Bachelor of Architecture degree. Shawn’s experience working in light frame wood construction led to a construction management internship with the University post-graduation before he joined a local residential architecture firm. Shawn’s favorite aspect of design is being able to help people discover spaces that brings joy to their everyday lives. When he is not studying for his licensing exams, Shawn draws inspiration from making music in his home studio as well as bicycling, kayaking, and camping all around the PNW.
Alison Saldanha, RA
Architect
Alison’s passion for architecture and design began in her high school mechanical engineering and autocad classes. Growing up around the Great Lakes area (Erie, PA, Ohio, and Detroit), she stayed close by for college to attend Ohio State University for her Bachelor of Architecture before moving out west to attend USC for her Master of Architecture. After graduation, Alison worked for firms in Seattle, Las Vegas, and Los Angeles before settling back in the Pacific Northwest. With experience in most sectors including high-end residential, large hospitality and development projects, convention centers, and arts and educational projects, Alison loves drawing design inspiration from her travels and being able to work with many different clients, helping their visions come to reality. When she’s not traveling, Alison loves to stay busy with home improvement projects and enjoy the beauty of the Pacific Northwest by kayak, hiking, or camping with her husband and dog.
Jack Aitken
Architectural Designer
Jack was born and raised in Missoula, Montana and attended Montana State University, where he received his Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Design from the School of Architecture. After graduation, Jack moved to Seattle to pursue his architectural career, finding inspiration in designing spaces that not only support the needs and desires of the client and occupants, but also inspire those who inhabit them. In his free time, Jack enjoys playing video games, exploring the many national and state parks in Washington, and planning his next big trip.
Jonathan Rodriguez
Architectural Designer
Jonathan studied architecture the University of North Carolina Charlotte, where he earned his Bachelor of Architecture before settling in Seattle to begin his architectural career. His work experience has focused mostly on single-family and multi-family residences, but he now enjoys working on a variety of project types here at Broderick Architects. Jonathan loves the exploration process of designing spaces and the relationships between both the virtual and built environments. When he is not in the office, Jonathan enjoys perfecting new recipes at home, reading about sports cars, and taking in the nice weather like it’s never coming back.

Erika VanEgtern
Architectural Designer
Erika grew up in the small town of Iola, Wisconsin and attended the University of Wisconsin, Milwaukee where she got her Bachelor of Science in Architecture degree. After graduation, Erika moved to Fond du lac, Wisconsin to work for a small high-end residential firm. Erika and her husband relocated to Seattle shortly after their wedding in 2023 for her husband’s Coast Guard duties. Growing up with a father in the construction world, Erika was always drawn to the creation of spaces and as her experiences grow, she has become more interested in how design can be molded to adapt to the natural flow of life. In her free time, Erika loves hiking around the Pacific Northwest with her husband and cheering on her favorite sports teams.
